Registration has been very brisk for this second summer event but we still have limited space in all classes.

Registration is well underway for our August classes.

The coloring classes with Ann from Victoria will feature 2 stamp
companies new to Paper Pastimes. Magnolia (yes, the first order of stamps
will be out Thursday morning plus we have several copies of 2 of their
lovely, full color, loaded with techniques magazines). The second company
is called Sparkle N Sprinkle. Very different than Magnolia with lots of lovely
and diverse images including Deco designs and verses using great fonts.

Artist Trading Cards *OVER THE TOP* swap and social will be held on Friday August 20 at 6 pm. Ann issued this challenge to us and to her group in Victoria. For her full info please go to www.stampers.com and read their news letter.

Colleen MacDonald has also issued a challenge for ATC's using Stamp It Australia images. Everyone doing ATC's using a Stamp-It stamp (over the top of course) will have their name put in a draw for a set of Stamp-It stamps. Thanks Colleen!!
Create multilayered or lavishly embellished or lovely calligraphy or mixed media
or.... Please note that for all of these very special cards one on one trading
is expected so if you can only make very few its OK.

Regular trading is fine also.
Carole Morin was here for classes last week and left her ATC binder if anyone
would like to trade with her that night. Ann will take it back to Carole.
Since this is also a social (party) please bring a little snack to share.

Techniques Binder
I am so excited about the number of people who have expressed interest in
participating in our first ever binder. Thank you for coming in to view the one from BC. Several have registered their proposed techniques already. I will be set up in early August to preview your proposal, charge you $10.00 and give you the cardstock that we would like used for the pages. A few reminders please:
1. If you choose to participate, please take your commitment seriously. No drop outs.
2. All samples must be the same and must be handmade. (instructions can be copied).
3. Include all brands, code #'s etc. (one lady color copied a picture of all the stuff used)
4. Submitted pages must be creatively finished and have visual appeal.
5. Talk to me first about your proposed project to avoid too many in one medium.
6. No home party products in this activity. Thank you.
7. All finished pages must be at the store in the first week of November 2010.
8. Be sure your name and email address is included on your pages.
9. We will accept up to 30 submissions providing that they are diverse enough.
All I can say is WOW. Lets have fun and make this the most beautiful keepsake ever!!!

***Coloring in My World***

Saturday August 14 *Chalks so Pretty* 1 to 3:30 $29.95
Explore this delightful coloring medium with Carole. You will work with stamps,
Peel-Offs, sponges, resists and so much more. You must bring stencil brushes
and the Dove Blender pen. Your chalks or ours. Create 3 cards & sample sheets.

Special Coloring Event August 18 to 21

My dear friend Ann from Stampers! in Victoria will be teaching 2 classes! She will teach you to color with Tombow Markers and Distress Inks. You can take one or both of the classes in any order. Samples and supply lists will be posted soon. Go to www.stamprs.com and look in the gallery for June and July and you will see Ann's lovely coloring on Magnolia stamps. She will be using Magnolia and another new stamp company that we are bringing in. Ann just got the images from this company and is working up the samples now.

Each class is about 3 hours long and costs $39.95

Shimmering Delights: Wed. Aug. 18    6 to 8:30 or 9 $39.95
This class is all about stunning iridescent color. Create 3 *shimmering* cards using 3 different techniques with Perfect Pearls. Open up a world of options while creating stunning results applying some simple and time saving tips for this awesome product range.

*Distressed* Color class: Sat. Aug. 21    1 to 4 pm. $39.95
You won't be distressed during this fun, messing about, class. Achieving rich and deep color backgrounds is what this class is all about with a healthy dose of distress techniques thrown in there for some extra WOW on your cards. If you have not played with the Ranger Distress Ink pads before, this class will open a whole new door for you while also touching on Dabbers and Distress Crackle paints. Hope you enjoy getting a little messy. Wear *play* clothes.

Simply Stunning Asian Cards: Thurs. Aug. 19     1 to 3:30 or 4 $39.95

Pewter Embossing with Elitia: Fri. Aug. 20     1 to 3:30 or 4 $39.95
This class is also a repeat from the July program that sold out so fast. Don't miss it this time. Absolutely beautiful pieces decorated with Bic Markers, Alcohol Inks and Krylon Gold pens.

Stencilling To The Max: Sat. Aug. 28     12:30 to 3:30 or 4 $39.95
I had so much fun developing this class that I wanted to run it again. I simplified a few things for this session and extended the time a little. You will play with 7 ! yes I said 7 different stencils, 7 different techniques on 7 easy but fun cards. You must bring stencil brushes, Versamark Ink pad and re-inker if your pad is dry. (lots of baby wipes or similar to wipe the stencils off).

For all you wonderful ladies that patiently waited while I washed stencils
last time I say a big Thank You.

General Info about our classes:

You must bring all required items to the classes you register for plus always lots of strong double sided tape and foam dots. We will be issuing a comprehensive supply list.

Check your schedule before you register and be sure that you can attend. We do not refund class fees. You may send a someone in your place or request that we save your kits.
If we must cancel the classes for any reason we will issue a full refund.

We are excited! Preparations are well under way.

Very important request concerning parking.

We have only 2 stalls directly in front of our store. There will be times that 20 or more vehicles will be coming and going at the same time. I do not wish to cause any parking problems for the business's near me so please park
facing Elbow Drive, or at the south end of the mall or at the back of my store. Your consideration is so appreciated.

Just want to let you know that we are very busy cutting and prepping the kits. We want to be very specific about the items you need to bring so that you don't feel you have to bring your entire studio. We will provide trimmers, score boards

A basic small tool kit:
Scissors, bone folder, 12" ruler, heat gun is used in several classes.
Pen, pencil, eraser
Sponge block: either Stampit Australia or Ranger foam block.
Brown dye ink for distressing/edging some of your projects.
Distress Vintage Photo or Memories browns are very nice.
Small tweezers for applying *bling*.

A reminder that the more classes that you are taking the more strong 2 sided tape and foam tape or dots you will need. Christy loves Zip Dry glue. Strong and very fast drying.
Most classes are multiple projects and all are comprised of several layers!

For coloring your pewter please bring Bic or other permanent markers,
2 or 3 colors of alcohol inks. Krylon Gold leafing pen if you have one.
Lots of 2 sided tape, foam dots, bone folder and scissors.

Carole Crawford: Early Bird Special
12' ruler, pencil, eraser, bone folder, lots of strong 2 sided tape, foam dots.

Carole Crawford: Stencilling to the Max
Stencil Brushes. Minimum 3. 1/2" is a perfect size but bring what you have.
1 must be very clean (no color in it) for Versamark Ink. (very important)
1 for dry chalks (what ever you have will be fine)
1 for dye inks (again bring what you have. Color in them is OK.)
Versamark Ink Pad and re-inker (very important) Heat gun is helpful.
Lots of strong 2 sided tape and foam dots.
